It isn’t always easy to get the attention of the opposite sex, but recent
scientific studies have found links between certain characteristics and the
attention of men. While we may be programmed to like certain things, there
are a lot of factors that go into who is attracted to who.
The Power of Makeup
Yes, men like some makeup, but only when it is done in the right ways. The
makeup industry is one of the few that have nothing to do with necessity,
yet will always remain strong. The scientific studies didn’t find what most
women would expect them to; men actually prefer women to wear less makeup.
This realization that women go to great lengths for something that men
don’t always prefer is baffling to say the least.
Beauty is Subjective
The newly compiled data seems to suggest that there is a science behind
looking beautiful. In fact, the opposite is true. Beauty is still highly
subjective and we shouldn’t go outside our comfort zone in attempt to look
attractive. We shouldn’t focus on the list of things that men prefer if it
makes us feel worse. Instead, we should do what is best for our self-esteem.
Some data may also suggest that only certain people are truly attractive.
This is, of course, false. The data merely suggests that some simple steps
can be taken to improve a woman's attractiveness. Don’t let the fact that
you don’t have a high pitched voice or long hair make you feel like you
aren’t attractive. Everyone is beautiful in their own way.
The Science of Attraction
A short list was compiled of what men find attractive in women. The items
ranged from natural aspects to ones that can be achieved through cosmetics.
Some of the items included were: -Child-bearing hips or a waist to hip ratio
-High pitched voices
-Wearing the color red
-Wearing less makeup
-Smiling more often
As you can see, many of the items on the list are subjective. Others, such
as smiling or wearing red, can be easy changes to make. In some cases,
women who have none of these features can still be attractive. It all
depends on the men you are talking to!
