I have never met anyone with a good reason why they are smoking. Most will tell you that it calms their nerves. Is this the reason why they started? Of course not. The most common reason why most people started smoking was, to see what it was all about. A good number of people were peer pressured into it. Another fraction simply followed in the seemingly compelling footsteps of adults before them. It is common knowledge that smoking is not healthy. Here are some reasons why you should not be doing it.
1. Dental health
Nicotine has very bad effects on your teeth. Most smokers suffer from dental health issues. These do not always have a quick onset and may start later in life. If you want to live a life with good looking teeth, smoking is one of the things that you should not be doing.
Smoke has a way of running through your body and almost becoming a permanent smell that you cannot get rid of. Most smokers have a smoky breath or body odour that never leaves them. Practicing extra hygiene may lessen the effects of this, but never completely eradicates the effects of smoking.
3. Loved ones
Since 1964, over 3 million non-smokers have died as a result of diseases contracted from inhalation of second-hand smoke. By smoking, you do not only endanger yourself, but you also endanger your loved ones.
Think about these things before your light up your next cigarette. Is it worth it?
