Oftentimes, you take advantage of the people in the world around you. You assume they are always going to be there. You think it’s no big deal if you don’t see them right now because there will always be tomorrow or next week. You figure it isn’t that big of a deal if you don’t talk to them on the phone until next month when things settle down a bit. Sadly, there is no way to determine how long someone is going to be here and when the last opportunity will be for you to talk with them.
All of that time spent saying you will catch up with them later could have been spent in a brief conversation on the phone or in person. There is no time like the present to connect with someone who means so much to you.
Allowing the time to pass by as if nothing happened is the worst thing you can do. How would you feel if that individual were no longer here? There would be no chance for you to tell them how you really felt and what they really meant to you.
Life is far too short to ignore the things that are right there in front of you. It is up to you to take control and let the people in your life know they matter and that you can’t imagine life without them. Spend a few minutes out of your day reflecting on all of the precious memories you have together. Never assume the other person knows what you think about them.
Oftentimes, it is nice to hear it time and time again.
Everyone should spend time with those they care about. Ignoring them or putting them off until later could be costly. Don’t wind up feeling guilty about the things you should have done. Reflect upon the things you did instead. It is up to you to make a difference and take control of the future. Why not make it a good one by reflecting upon how things are now and not how they could have been? Instead of feeling guilty about something you didn’t do, reflect upon the joy and happiness of the things you did.
It’s up to you how you want your future to be. Make it a good one.
