Your body is a machine of marvel, particularly when you figure out just what it can do. The body is capable of performing crazy tacks, and you'd be surprised how hard your body works. Here are a few examples.
1. Your Body and Producing
Our bodies are capable of creating many substances, from mucus to red blood cells. But how much does your body produce? Did you know that you make enough spit in one life two fill not one, but two average-sized swimming pools? That's a lot of saliva! You lose skin cells all the time, and by the time your life is at its end, you'll have produced 40 lbs.! Every six months, your fingernails and toenails are entirely new. If you're ever wondering why your stomach can't digest itself, it's because the cells making it up are created faster than they can be destroyed.
For men, they make ten million sperm every day. For women, their ovaries create half a million eggs, but just 400 get to be used. In six months, that's enough to cover the entire world population. You also sweat a pint each day through your half a million sweat glands. You can also make enough body heat in 30 minutes to turn a gallon of water into steam.
2. The Body At Work
Every minute, the red blood cells explore your entire body. Your eyelids also contract 100,000 times a day. Your bladder expands quite a bit when you have to use the bathroom, and sometimes that expansion is visible. Also, your body has to digest a lifetime of food and water. About 50 tons and 50,000 liters, to be exact. And a fifth of your calories are used by your brain.
Your kidneys clean 1.3 liters of blood per minute, and filter 1.5 liters of urine daily.
3. Other Wonders
We are visual creatures, with nine-tenths of our information coming from our eyes. Our bones are four times stronger than even concrete. We each have a unique smell, unless you're a twin. If you dream a lot, you may have a high IQ. Also, the capillaries in your lungs are enough to go from LA to Atlanta.
