A new study done in the University of Pittsburgh showed that smoking shisha can be as dangerous as smoking cigarettes. The findings are contradictory to the popular belief that many smokers have about shisha being a healthier alternative to cigarettes.
A single shisha smoking session typically delivers 125 times the smoke produced by one cigarette, 2.5 times the nicotine and 10 times the carbon monoxide. This means most people are underestimating the toxins they are subjecting themselves to by picking this habit up.
The authors of the study suggest that the consumption of tobacco through hookah should be monitored closely.
