Anyone in their right mind would think penguins are cute. But not only are they cute, they're really smart, too! On a recent trip to the Antarctic, photographer Gunther Riehle, 53, witnessed how hundreds of Emperor penguins, split in sub-colonies and living 100m apart, instinctively moved closer together forming one huge entity in their attempt to keep each other warm and safe from the icy winds. Cutest of all though, was that parents took turns cuddling their fluffy little chicks while the others went out fishing.
Fun Fact: scientist measured the internal temperature of an adult cuddle and found it to be 37 degrees Celsius!
