Have you ever had so much work to do and feel like you have no energy for it? This might be because you picked the wrong time to start working. Some people are mostly productive in the early morning, others late at night. And some prefer to work in the afternoon.
Here are some tips to find out when is your peak productivity time.
When do you feel you can really concentrate on your work? Look back at older days and try to remember when you were able to get things done properly. Determine the times when you feel most energetic, creative and optimistic.
You will not get any work done if you keep getting distracted. Avoid working during these times because it will take you double the effort and time to finish what you’re doing. If it happens that you have to pick up the kids in the afternoon even though it’s your favorite time to work, you can find other arrangements. Work for a couple of hours, pick up the kids, and work for another couple of hours.
Leave the most demanding tasks for the times when you are most productive. If you have to prepare a presentation to get that promotion, do it first thing in the morning if that's your preferred time. You can do your other duties throughout the day. Reading emails can wait.
Split your work in different chunks and take a well-deserved break between each set of chores. Enjoy the distractions when they happen because they will leave you more energetic afterwards. For example when you pick up the kids, play with them for a while and communicate. You will be more productive afterwards.
